Blackboard Tests (Ultra) Workflow
Blackboard Test provides the main system of online summative and formative tests,
online/remote and Computer-Based Exams using Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and
other question types. This workflow covers information for both administrators and
teaching/academic staff.
More so than other assessments, Blackboard Tests require coordination between academic/teaching staff and administrative staff to ensure marks are transferred and the learning experience for students is structured as desired, so it is worth discussing this process with colleagues.
How to use this workflow
Click on the links to navigate to a section of the guidance. Within each set of
instructions, you’ll be able to navigate to the next or previous steps or return to the timeline. Each section is marked with the member of staff for whom the guidance is most relevant, but this may vary on a local level.
What options does this workflow offer?
This workflow also offers the following options:
- Distributed marking*
- Turnitin Similarity and AI reports (for additional, ungradable content only).**
* Using Blackboard’s Delegated Marking features is not recommended at this time. This workflow uses an alternative approach.
** Turnitin similarity and AI reports currently generate ONLY for content in the Additional Submission Content section which cannot be given a grade. It does not apply to Essay Questions. Some file types may not be suitable for a Turnitin similarity and AI check. To check what documents may not receive similarity or AI checks, please refer to Turnitin’s guidance.
